southdown sand in boise, Idaho

I live in eagle, idaho and I have the opportunity to buy a large amount of the infamous southdown (yardright) tropical play sand and have it shipped to boise. if anybody is interested, they could buy it from me for $15 per 50lb bag. you would have to pick it up or pay for shipping. I'm posting this thread to get a feel for how much i should order, if any at all. If there is enough interest, i can get up to a pallet (56 bags). anyone who is interested can post their wants and contact information on this thread or email me at zepfan898@yahoo.com

The lowest amount I had quoted was fifteen bags which would have cost $150 to idaho. The woman at HD spent hours on the phone trying to finding a company that would ship it that cheap. Some of them quoted over 2000 for a pallet. I think you just have to call around, or use your best barry manilow voice with someone at HD.

Well I guess at that shipping rate I wouldn't be saving much$ Guess I'll just have to wait untill spring and shop around. Fortunatly I live in the middle of no where so I would have to travel to one of the four cities around me anyway. As far as the Barry Manilow voice, I'll have to work on that. I am on the other side of that spectrum so maybe I'll try Angelina Jolie or Demi Moore. LOL!!

If you live in New York, there is no need to pay shipping. It is sold at most Home Depots in and around the NYC metropolitan area and the price is usually less than $4/bag.

Ask zhenya where to find it. He lives in Jersey!

thanks!! I'm going to check out the home depot and lowes in Kingston today. I called Home depot in oneonta yesterday and they said they have 8 bags of sand but couldn't tell me what kind. If all else fails I'll just have to wait till spring. Will take me that long to get all of my equipment anyway. Thanks all for your help.

Good luck, Leslie.

I'm sure that in the spring you'll find it at the Home Depot without any problems as the season will be approaching. I'd suggest calling them and ask what it will cost to deliver, I doubt it will be more than 70 bucks for whatever amount of bags, however, 100lbs of sand could be picked up in the car.

South Down in N.J.

Hey BANGA,

there is Southdown at the HD on rt. 66 in Central N.J. Here's the sku# 090604201002, call 732-922-6580 and see if they will hold it for you. They had 1/2 pallet out and 6 bags in the garden area. They had it out as sand because of the snow here. But they were about to put it back in the garden/seasonal area.
