Interesting, I noticed the aqua cultured live rock from premium aquatics is made of pumice. This was interesting to me b/c I am geology major at NorthernKentuckyUniversity. And being in the hunt for some base rock or live rock, was wondering around the lab room looking at rocks that would make good live rock. And picked up a piece of pumice which is a super light weight rock, a piece of pumice the size of a football doesn’t even weigh a pound. Not only is it light weight but it is a very porous rock. Anyway I just found it interesting that someone is using this rock, I think it’s a great idea. I imagine that you get way more rock for the pound then the natural live rock. Anyone else know anything about using pumice for live rock.
