Arrow 120-gal Starphire tank, equip., live rock, etc. - SE Louisiana

Moving and can't take it with me:

120-gal custom Starphire tank: 45"L x 23"W x 27.5"H
3 sides 1/2" Starphire, back 1/2" float glass plus 3/16" black indicoat mirror plus 3/16" greylite glass = 7/8" total, bottom 3/4" float glass, top center brace (10") and perimeter splash guards 1/2" Starphire glass. One corner overflow (1.5" drain) with Stockman standpipe. Overflow compartment is 6" x 10" greylite glass with 1/4" black acrylic insert to block view of pipes.

Tank has been set up for 2 yrs 11 mos and is in excellent condition. It's heavy. Estimated weight: 300-325 lbs.

Asking $350. Must be picked up, Ponchatoula, LA (50 miles NW of New Orleans, 40 miles East of Baton Rouge).

Picture of tank outside in driveway.

Picture of tank set up with removable black acrylic shields to block sand bed at the bottom and light spill at the top. Red turf algae showing in this picture is long gone.

Live rock: 150 lbs super nice live rock, mostly Kaelini, some Tonga branch and some Buna (Fiji) branch. Mostly covered in purple coralline algae. No nuisance algae. Loaded with amphipods, copepods and bristle worms.

Asking $350. Will not part out. Must be picked up.

Live sand: 260 lbs live sand, loaded with life. 6" DSB. Only the top 1" should be used. The bottom 5" should be discarded.

Asking $60 only on condition that buyer removes ALL of the sandbed from the tank. This is not exactly an easy task. Tank is 27.5"H and sits on a 36"H stand. I supply the step ladder and you supply the acrobatic skills.

Fish: One mature Foxface Rabbitfish (Siganus vulpinus) 6"+; one mature Orchid Dottyback (Pseudochromis fridmani) 2.75"; one mature Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa) 3.5". All three fish in excellent condition and exceptionally beautiful specimens. I have had the Foxface and the Dottyback for 2 yrs 9 mos and the Coral Beauty for 2 yrs. My fairy wrasses perished in the heat wave following Hurricane Katrina. Tank has been running as a FOWLR since Katrina.

Asking $60 for all three fish. You catch them. Will not sell the Foxface to anyone with a tank smaller than 120 gallons.

Misc. livestock: Assorted snails, one well-behaved banded serpent star (reddish), lots of so-called spaghetti worms, bristle worms (Eurythoe complanata), mini stars, micro stars, amphipods and copepods galore. This will go with either the live sand or the live rock. Free.

Sump: Lifereef LF1-150(30"L x 13"W x 14"H -- 22 gal) with 24" Lifereef protein skimmer and two Little Giant pumps. In operation 2 yrs 11 mos. Excellent condition, except that the two pumps are now almost 3 yrs old.

Asking $375. Must be picked up.

Sea Swirls: Two 3/4" Sea Swirls. Asking $45 each.

Light fixtures: One 48" Phazer II fluorescent fixture holding two 55w PC actinics. Lamps have only 2 weeks on them. I just changed them.

Asking $40. That's less than the cost of the lamps. Must be picked up.

48" Aqua-Medic Aquastarlight Future fixture: Holds two 250w 10,000K HQI DE lamps plus a 25w blue incandescent moonlight in the middle. There is something wrong with the left side halide -- it doesn't work. I think it's the ignitor but I'm not sure. The right side halide and the moonlight are working but not the left side halide. The right side halide lamp is only two months old.

Asking $175 AS IS. Must be picked up.

Misc. stuff: Three Rubbermaid Brute containers: One 32-gal gray, two 20-gal white. All with lids. All excellent condition. Asking $40 for all three.

Refractometer: two of these but one of them has a tilted field of view. I messed it up twisting it but it can be corrected if you have patience. The good one is $25 and the tilted one is free with the good one.

Test kits: LaMotte calcium and alkalinity test kits, plus fresh refills. Salifert test kits for just about everything. Total of about a dozen test kits. Asking $50 for all.

Salt: Two or three boxes of MEI Crystal Sea Marinemix and one bucket of either Instant Ocean or Reef Crystals (I forgot which). Asking $10 per box or bucket.

Other stuff: Extra membranes and cartridges for R.O./D.I., separate portable D.I. unit with extra filter cartridges, plus other misc. odds and ends.

TERMS: Everything must be picked up in SE Louisiana. Will not ship anything.

Obviously I must sell the livestock, live rock and live sand first. Tank is presently set up in an empty room in the house I just moved out of. Whoever buys the tank must supply ALL of the labor to move it. It will take two very strong guys. Too young guys moved it in for me but they told me it was very heavy.

Please contact me by PM on the board.
