Where can I find 48" T5 bulbs?

I have 2 T5 bulbs in my ballest. 1 is a actnic (SP?) and the other is a white bulb "dont know what kind it is". They are both 25 watts. Where can I purchase them?. I want stronger lighting. It seems a bit dim.

The thing is that If your ballest was made to put out 50W then thats the max it will put out, adding bulbs with higher wattage won't work.

Re: Where can I find 48" T5 bulbs?

I went to a guy's house locally on Friday night to swap frags and he only uses T5s on his 120 gallon. I can not tell you how impressed I was. He has a Tek system that had 8 4ft bulbs and it was much brighter and the corals looked so much better than using halides and only 2 of the 8 were daylight bulbs the rest were actinics. His tank had to be one of the brightest tanks I have ever seen. He said they exceeded his expectations because he is getting tremendous growth from his SPS corals and the coloration of both the corals and the fish was out of this world. I put my hand under the light just to see how hot they get......all 8 of them put out less heat than 1 of my halides. I have cancelled my order for the dual 250 watt halides and instead am going with the system he has.

Re: Where can I find 48" T5 bulbs?

I love my T-5 ballest. The daylights last for 2 years and the actinics last for 18 months. I used it for my freshwater tank and am going to use it for my saltwater tank. I wanna make sure that if one of them goes I can replace them. No local stores sell them around here.
