free red knob starfish to good home

i have a red knob starfish that needs to go. i just started getting corals for my tank. not reef friendly. if you have a fish only tank, very beautiful starfish. about 5 inches across. eats a clam strip about once every 5 days or so. very low maintanece. i'll pay the overnight shipping. i just want someone to give him/her a good home.

You're the man Ryan. What a nice offer. If my refugium was a little larger, I'd take you up on it.

I'll spread the word to my reef club, I'm sure somebody would love to take him in.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Thumbs up Re: free red knob starfish to good home

I'd love him, but I'm new to saltwater aquariums and from what I'm reading it may not go well in my tank. Good luck though!

thank you to everyone for your posts. i'll be talking to madi05 for a home for my starfish. i got home from work today and it was actually eatting one of my coral frags. i wasn't very smart in buying these coral and having a starfish. i guess it's a lesson learned. this is a picture of patrick eatting my coral. once he gets onto food and his body blows up, you can't rip him off the food. even though i'm not too happy with him right now, i don't wanna hurt him. it was my fault.free red knob starfish to good home-patrick-eatting-my-coral.jpg

Re: free red knob starfish to good home

well he is cool, i do have some green polyps that came on some live rock i got a couple weeks ago with coraline all over it ,, and i read that my chocolate chip and your red knob are basically the same type of starfish, he doesnt eat those but i dont care if he does, lol i am just worried my picasso humuhumu may pick at them but many say that my triggerfish is smaller than the starfish and then he shouldnt mess with them,, im anxious to see what goes on when i add my fish back to DT ,, cause i got some snails i worry about as well with the picasso

the good thing is i have another tank that i can put the starfish in if he does pick on them

thanks i will take good care of him for u

Patrick is probably the coolest starfish I've ever seen, too bad he has developed a taste for corals.

This offer and transaction is definitely the coolest thing I've seen in a LONG time...

UPS loosing the water, not so cool, but the rest of it? Yeah, way cool!
