WTB/WTT Twin-Flo standpipe for AGA 65 gal (single)

Pretty straight forward request. The tank is 24" tall, so the inlet standpipe is the same for the 65, 90,120,180,92corner,155bow.

Will pay for shipping or pickup if local. Bunch of stuff for trade, including same frags, corals.

Kennerd,

Have you considered a Durso Standpipe instead? You can do a search on some of the boards, but I think most people are happier with a Durso and they are cheap to build!

Here is the site. I use one in our AGA 75R and it works great!

Found one local and one semi-local reefers that have them. I've considered the durso, bu after talking with someone in my club who installed them in an Oceanic tank, I'd prefer these, as opposed to fiddling around with the durso's airhole, etc. A littleless maintenance, plus I'm trading frags for it:Home Depot for some reason doesn't accept frags as payment. Man, and I even offered some nice orange monti to match their aprons!

Thanks: nice looking tank by the way: neat and clean equipment: kudos!

Ken,

Thanks for the tank comments. It's a work in process.

I hear you on the Durso airhole. It took a while to get ours dialed in. I eventually got it whisper quiet by adjusting the hole and throttling the effluent gate valve where it dumps into the sump.

Good luck,

Doug

Hey Ken,

I will have two available in a few days when I recieve Rich Durso's standpipe set up.If you like to wait a little, they could be yours for free (unless you just like to give me a small frag of that orange monti ).How did you make home the other night?Hope all the corals made it OK

I can wait, and I will save some orange & green monti for you: they are already mounted, but a little small. Shouldn't be a problem at all growing like a weed with your setup!

Corals all made it home fine. The pavona, yellow ricordia, beige acro, part of the candy cane and monti cap are all doing well. The candy cane got nipped the second I put it in the tank by my queen angel, but it opened up now. The shrooms and polyps went home with Chad (ReefSOE on the boards): needless to say, he was VERY happy!

Any reason you are switching to the durso?

Hi Ken,
The reason I'm switching to Durso's is becouse AGA standpipe is still too noisy to my liking.Well, not really mine but my wife's .My 110g is in a family room if you remember and watching tv as you get older becomes problematic .By the end of the movie the tv is so loud that I have to leave the room (fishes are freaking out as well). She has her own tv in her study but she gets lonely upthere .
I visit Brian C. that evening when you stopped by and his 180 overflows were silent.I really liked it and desided to switch.Well, if you don't mind waiting a little,as soon as they arrive I'll drop you a line and we can arrange pick up
I'm glad everyone made it OK

Well, your trap worked EXCELLENT! Unfortunately, human error is the demise of most attempts at greatness: The flame angel went into the trap within 3 minutes of baiting it. I closed the trap door, but as I stepped back toward the tank, I dropped the little fishing line and it opened the door to the trap! Gone. I am seriously ticked off.

I'll give yours a shot, since I just need to deaden the noise: anything will be an improvement over the 24" waterfall that is in there right now! I just didn'twant to mess around with the airline on the durso for now.

Ken,

Your waterfall can't be as bad as the one we saw on our tank tour last month. Imagine a 500 gallon tank with ~4500 gallons per hour coming over the overflow and dropping 28" before hitting the drain stubs. You could hear literally hear it outside of the house while walking up to the door.

It was incredible!
