Here is another good Tang link for you (also from Bob Fenner) :

As for size, smaller species will usually realize only six to eight inches in total length in captivity while the largest ones may attain two feet or more. Under ideal conditions, the "big" Acanthurids attain larger proportions more quickly, growing a handful of inches a year. As size is considered during the purchase of these fishes, buying any Tang under three inches in length is not endorsed. In turn, larger specimens or adults will generally acclimate with more difficulty.

Ctenochaetus strigosus 7.1"
Zebrasoma scopas 7.9"
Acanthurus nigricans 8.3"
Acathurus japonicus 8.3"
Acathurus leucosternon 9"
Acathurus coeruleus 9"

All the above listed need a 75-100 gal tank to do well. That is the nature of tangs.

Regards,
Kevin

3LakeAfricanCichlids,
since Kevin mentioned it, and you are interested in yellow tangs (Zebrasoma flavescens), check this out, it will give you a better idea of what Zebrasoma tangs need:

The Venerable Scopas Tang (Zebrasoma scopas)
