170 FO tank

This is the start of it.
The 170
Right now there are a couple small corals in it but they'll be going into a 20L. Is sand ok for the bed? I'm having a rough time deciding what kind of fish to put in it. Right now it has a Fire Goby and an Archillies Tang. The goby will be making a trip to the 125 reef when he becomes supper size for any new fish I might add. I want to keep the Tang in the 170. What would all of you put in it?

Sooo many possibilities. Do you like the bigger acanthurus tangs (powder blue/browns, sohols) etc??

How do you feel about some of the smaller "large" angels -- like the genicanthus (sp?) which are all planktivores and max out at around 6 inches -- the Zebra, Watanabe, etc??

You could go "predator" and do a lion, a smaller eel, a puffer...

dep on what you want, I'd probably keep the sand (and some live rock). It will help your filtration.

Have fun!

When I setup my FOWLR tank it will have a pair of Golden Butterflys and a large either emporator or queen and 1-2 other fish yet to be decided. This tank will be 8' long but in the 150-180 gall range some thing around 96x20x20 with bare bottom since gravel is such a pain to vacum on large systems and dont want to mess with deep sand bed.

What is it that you don't want to mess with?

Having to change the tank measurements?

I've just started using a DSB and am curious about any shortcomings concerning it.
