clown trigger
I just ended up getting a good deal on a 2"clown triggerfish this weekend $70.00 w tax! Im going to keep him in my 55 gallon tank for hopefully a while before he gets to big then i guess i'll have to give him away or sell him!My dilema is this i have a huma huma triggerfish on order he will be in next weekend and he is the one i really wanted so can i keep him in the same tank as my clown they are both very small just babies i think! At the store i bought the clown from he had 1 clown 1 huma huma 1 tomato clown 1 mandarin gobie 1 hawkfish 1 yellow tang and 1 three stripe damsel together in one tank (his show tank) they all seemed to get along well the triggers where babies all the rest where full grown .He told me the 3 stripe was a punk but all the rest where great he also had them all in a big reef tank with about 200lbs of live rock with crabs and other creatures! Is this guy an idiot or is all the research i have been doing b.s. He basicly said research is all good but to buy whatever i wanted just for the experience of the fish! Is he out for the money or what? he seemed like one of the smarter guys i have talked to and hes been keeping marine fish for 20 years! He told me that if my fish outgrew my tank he could sell it for me for the same price i paid for it or more!Pretty kool guy i thought!Any thoughts ???????????????

Its possible to get away with that for awhile , when you are dealing with juveniles , but as they get older they get more aggressive and thier mouths get bigger so many different things that would not fit before , now do !!!!!!!! With his "buy whatever you want just for the experience" Statement I would be a bit cautious with the guy.

I would have to agree that the statement of "buy whatever you want just for the experience" is very bad advice and lead to nothing but trouble.
Always research anything before buying it and if you cant handle it or will out grow you then dont get it. YOu will be much better off in the long run along with what ever you may purchase. |

Well the guy agreed to take him back in exchange for a small 1.5" huma huma and some credit at his store but now i have to transport the little guy 2 hours back to the store!I really like the clown but i realize that he will outgrow his tank way before i'll be ready to upgrade so im going with the picasso trigger for now! Also i noticed today that he is starting to show a little aggresion towards my clarki clown! So im sure im doing the right thing!I have only had him for a week but im going to miss him,he's just so damn kool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
