Wow, I just found a thread recommending the hirocks site for ordering base rock, great prices but... I'm a little concerned about contamination. It says on the site that it comes from a quarry in Hawaii & they use it mostly for roads. Anyone here use the hirocks stuff for any length of time? Am I just being paranoid? I'll be totally ticked if I get this stuff & it kills my fish & my live rock! What do you think? Thanks!

when you get it you need to clean it before use.I would soak it with bleach and water(non-soap type) for a couple of days then rinse it well and soak it in water with chlorine remover in it for several more days changing the water and chlorine remover every day.when you dont smell the chlorine on the rock its self any more it is probly prety safe to put in the tank.
