PH Level

I know i know the answer to the question but i just want to confirm it.

Does overfeeding lower the Ph of a tank?

Also the town water i use to do water changes used to give me a ph level of 8.3-8.5, recently it seems to be 7.9 to 8.1. Yes i know i can goto the LFS. But my LFS is a hike and a half to get to. Any one know of anything i can use to raise teh Ph of the water safely?

5 Gallon.

Ya i would use it in the separate container while i prepare water for water changes. Its not that the Ph of my tank is low, but for future water changes in would progressively become lower and lower without something to raise it up.
