Alot of times , coloration problems are due to lack of proper diet. If you dont see any spots or open sores , then diet would be my first guess. You should try to feed a varied diet of meaty offerings , and some flake. Many people will soak the food in a vitamin supplement before feeding. I use selcon on occassion and am happy with that.

The clowns I have are pigs . I feed every day . Try that and keep an eye on the water quality. If you are overfeeding your quality could slowly deteriorate. I would think though that feeding just once a day will not cause you any problems . Many feed several times a day ( smaller portions)

What else are you feeding? Frozen brine is a good treat, but low in nutritional value!! For simplicity I use Spectrum Pellets, and I use frozen "green food" from a LFS, Formula 1 Flake, Cyclop-eez as well.
