to feed or not to feed

right now im feeding my clownfish onece every other day with frozen brineshirmp enough for him to eat in 1 minute. the coloreation of the clown mouth turn peal when the day i don't feed him. but the day when i feed him most of the color came back. what should i do. this is only a 5 gal tank with 10 lb of rock

You should feed your fish at a very minimum daily. 2 or 3 feedings per day of a mixed diet is preferred. The should get some brine, mysis, flake or anything else they will accept on a regular basis.

Don't forget to add some algae product to the foods that Scott had listed.Clownfish are generally omnivores and like a wide variety of food.
Daly feedings are required and a bare minimum,I agree with Scott that two or three times is even better.Don't have to be giant portions either.

i think im goin to feed the brain at night and mysis or flake in the morning\
wut your think about that?

Yes, you can feed your coral at night as the fish would be asleep and in the morning you can feed your fish.I would try to combine mysid and the flakes( a bit of both) and maybe soak it in some vitamins or selcon. If you are home in the afternoon,I would just sprinkle some flakes and maybe add some algae like Nori with a clip or tied to a rock. Your clownfish will thank you for it. I know both clowns in two of my tanks beat any tang to Nori when I put it there
