    heat

    what is making my fish tank so warm? i got two powerhead a 330 penguin. 30 lb live rock 300 watt heater and 2 green damsel. should i leave the lid open?

    If the tank is totally covered by a lid then yes, I would leave it open. Also, what setting is the heater turned too and excatly how hot is the tank water? If the tank water is a couple of degrees warmer than what the heater is set on, I would crank the heater down a degree or 2 to get to your desired temp.

    How big is the tank, and what is the Ambient room tempature? Lighting is the first choice of a culprit. THen check the Powerheads to make sure they are not jammed or something. If one is, it will certainly heat the water, and FAST too.

    Unless there is some Pulsating Xenia in there... Mine starts to "melt" at 82.
