Cured Live Rock?
What would happen if I put cured live rock in an uncycled tank? can you cycle a tank with cured live rock? I don't have any rock at this time but I am getting ready to order 50lbs here in the next few days. If I got cured live rock would the life on the live rock die off during the cycle? Thanks for your time

Some people prefer to purchase Fully Cured Liverock in order to cycle their tank faster. Some people report that after putting fully cured rock into a new tank, the tank never went through a cycle and they were able to start stocking. Of course there is going to be some die off from the shipping so if you get cured rock, put it in the tank and start performing tests on the water the very next day. If within 1 week you don't see ammonia or nitrite's rise, then your tank is most likely cycled.
