i have a 10 gal saltwater tank, it has 1 to 2 in. of crushed coral on bottom, it has a penguin filter on back, a 50 wat heater,temp-80 degrees salinity-1.023, PH between 8.4-8.8, and it has been cycling for almost a week now with 1 damsel fish, and i am planning on buying 1 false percula in about a month, and a scarlet hermit sometime soon, would anyone please care to comment on this, thanks!

Your set-up is ok . The crushed coral is a bit undesirable as it needs to be vacuumed clean on a regular basis. Your Ph flucuation is kind of high , something to keep an eye on. As far as cycling with fish , there are better ways of doing it . That way is very hard on the fish . I would recommend you get some live rock for your tank to help out with filtration , and offer some hiding spots for your fish . The damsel is an aggressive fish so you may have trouble introducing your clown , especially with no cover . Read alot , ask questions and have patience.

hey thanks for the advice, ill make sure to do the best i can with it and see where it leads me, hopefully ill move on to a bigger tank, but right now i dont have the money for it
