Question protein skimmer

hey!

sorry ive been posting so many threads, but i just have a lot of questions, because i want to get all the knowledge i can so i can keep my tank up and runing.

anyways...

I found this top-notch protein skimmer/filter, for 137$, is this a good price for one of these?

It's not a top notch skimmer by no means but they aren't the worse skimmers. Lots of people make modifications to them after purchasing them to increase their output. For another $70 you could get a AquaC Remora and have a really nice, efficient skimmer for your aquarium.

I don't know that much about CPR's Bak-Pak skimmers but if you look closely at the picture you will see the name Marine Depot. That's where they copied the picture: http://www.marinedepot.com/a_ps_cpr.asp?CartId Looks like they're only $127.95 at Marine Depot.

Nice Skimmer, not the best. An excellent mod to that skimmer is a Maxi Jet Powerhead, with the inlet venturi adapter from Premium Aquatics. But that adds about $21.00 to the cost. Cheaper the the Remora, and it makes a BIG difference. So for 148.00 or so it is a good deal.
