They are a Reef Janitor, it won't eat corals and fish, but it will eat their waste and extra food from feeding. I have several in my tank. Most are about 3-4" long.

What is the danger in touching a bristleworm? Does it sting?

The bristles will get into your skin and cause a painful irritation.

interesting. i have a blue and pink one that crawls around my rock, i saw it outside the rock 2 weeks ago and was gonna grab it and throw it away (most likely bare handed). Kinda glad that i didn't do that now.
