The only problem that pops out is the CBS and 2 cleaner shrimp. You will probably end up with just the CBS in that small of tank. He will kill the other two.

I'm not sure what their natural lifespan is in the wild but in aquaria 3-5 years is typical for Lysmata spp. assuming good conditions.

You will need to maintain calcium and alkalinity levels within normal ranges. That can be accomplished with limewater (Kalkwasser) as replacement topoff water for evaporation or it can be handled with two-part additives such as B-Ionic or C-Balance. Or it can be handled by a calcium reactor.

Water parameters should be kept within the usual reef tank recommended ranges with the notable exception that 1-2 ppm nitrate is considered a good thing in a tank with Tridacnid clams rather than the usual recommendation of "zero, if possible." There is no need for anything else unless you test your tankwater and find a deficiency.

Phytoplankton at least once a week is beneficial to all Tridacnid clams and essential for small ones (less than 3") -- in fact, small clams should be fed phyto at least twice a week until they are at least 3".

Brittle stars are great scavengers. I use them in all my tanks. Some are quite colorful. The only one I know of that can be a problem is the Green Brittle star. It is reported to catch fish.

This an answer that is more what each wants with in limits.

My opinion for a 20 gallon is around 15-20. I like trubos, astria, Nassarius, Cerith, conchs ( will grow and have to be traded in for smaller ones from time to time - also may need extra algae to fed them) and cowies or abalones.

Do you mean you think you hear a fog horn? I've never heard of noisy fog before.
