Question Water is so clear at LFS

I have a 58 gallon running since 5/5 with live rock and a aquamedic protein skimmer and some powerheads. I just got some algae brown algae build up on the glass on 5/25. I did a test last night and nitrites are up but everything else is zero. Will the water get clearer after I use the RO/DI water? And anyone know how much longer the cycle will take?

I'd just be patient with it. It sounds like its a pretty young tank, and its hard to say exactly how long the cycle process lasts. Could be 3 days, 3 weeks, or even 3 months. RO/DI water will help, and you should also pre-mix your salt water for water changes a day or 2 or ...in advance. If your trites are high, then you may still be in the process, unless it was a typo and you meant trates. Anyway, just relax and let the tank be for another week or so, dont start dumping different products in there. That may lead to more problems.

Do have any creatures in your tank? If so, what?

It took my 90G 8 weeks to cycle. RO/DI water will help speed the process up, but as Leddy said, just take your time with it. What are you using to cycle the tank with?

I would give it another week or two, then test your water again to make sure all levels are good.
