Where'd that come from...

I came home today to find some type of clam shell in my tank. It's huge and I have no idea where it could've come from. All I have in the tank is 2 clowns, 4 blue legs and 2 emerald crabs. I know stuff lives in the rock but I would've seen this thing! Maybe I'll post a pic or something and you guys might know what it is. Also, I happened to be looking for hermit crabs after the lights went out and while searching a caught a glimpse of some type of worm looking thing or something...it was pretty big too. Hiding under the LR and seemed to use some of the crushed coral to close the door behind him when he hid...lol

Wow...i knew i'd see things I didn't put in there, but this is really cool.

I ran into the same thing, clam-wise. Although it's pretty small, maybe an inch across. I wonder if a clam was living in there and then died for whatever reason? Maybe eaten?

I dunnow...i can't for the life of me think of where it could have come from judging by it's size and me not seeing it before. I remember seeing something of a black color logded in the rock before I bought it, but this is way bigger than that. Oh well, it'll be interesting to see what else shows up. Although I did see this little embryo looking things with dark black eyes floating around the tank after the lights go out...wonder what they are?

bi-valves will come in on/in LR. They are filter feeders that do not live for long in most tanks. When they die the shell opens up and one halve will sometimes break off. Whilel it was live you may never have noticed unless you were looking for it and saw it open or close the slight amount they move.

oh ok. I happened to see a second one...same situation. This one was a lot smaller though. I can see how I missed that one.
