what is the best way in removing green hairy algea from the Life ROck? i'm planning to get snails very soon but right know i can't.

Over the years I have found that picking it off works well but you have to be sure you are quick and pull it out not letting it float out of reach as it will just grow wlsewhere. Years ago when I had a really bad niusance algae problem..I took the rock out..placed it in a plastic tub with water that matched the displays SG & temp and scrubbed it with a new toothbrush which worked extremely well. Of course...it will only grow back if the source of the problem is not found and addressed.
