Lawnmower Blenny

I hear great things about this fish and its housekeeping abilities. Anyone have any success of failure stories?

Im trying to keep thegreen hair algea in check. I dont mind it in the tank and think its kinda cool to have, just not too much.

I have a lawnmower blenny..... Unfortunately he won't touch the green hair algae! lol ..... He likes the meatier foods that I feed the other fish, and he likes the algae/nori sheets I put in,and also likes fresh macro-algaes (not chaeto, but the others) ..... but not the hair algae.
I HAVE seen him munching the green alga spots on the glass tho... I'm guessing that is a different type of algae than the hair type.

He's great fun to watch tho, a real character! I'm not sorry for buying him at all

Seen em in action, they are good house keepers but not for hair. They will touch cyano in it's early stages but once it makes a carpet they won't touch it either.

thanks for the replies. Ill still give him a good home but may need to get some snails as well. any thoughts on how many are too many? they will only populate for the area they can eat, right?

Any are any better for staying in the water than others
