I just can't imagine the Chromis killing any fish. How large are the Chromis is relation to the other fish? Can you tell us about your acclimation process for the new fish, specifically did put any of the water the Chromis were transported in into your display? Sounds like some sort of pathogen or parasite maybe but not the Chromis killing other fish.

the chromis were bigger than the 2 clows i bought the clowns from live aquaria and they were tiny......then i bought the angel from the LFS acclimated him he was fine for like a week.........then i bought the chromis from a differnet LFS acclimated them u knwo let the bag sit for 15 then add some of my water to the bag and so on and so on and then i took the fish from the bag and put them in my tank none of the LFS water went into my tank........they were fine for the first 2 or 3 days then i foud a clown dead i was like ok weird so i watched them for a whiel and it was fine i turn off the lights and i see the 4 chromis go striaght for the clown well i tried to help as much as i could u knwo but trying to keep him seperate but u know nature tooks its course and the otehr clown died due to not having any fins....then today i find the angle dead on the bottom of the tank again the 4 chromis eating acting fine no white spots on the angle or on any of the chromis water checked out to be perfect so i really have no clue what is going on everything seefs fine..........

o yeah i did find that i had 3 i believe they are penci urchins that were on my live rock do u think they had anyting to do with this??? dont know anything abot them

What are the levels in your tank? I can't imagine the Chromis being aggressive enough to kill other fish therefore I think something else is wrong. It's not the Urchins either, they're not going to go after any fish.

i would have to agree that the chromis should not be the problem. I have a few of these fish and all is well so i can speak with a little experience. killing other fish just isnt their style.

do they act aggresively towards each other? Does one fish stand out as meaner than the others? I ask since not every fish with a "nice" label is nice.

no they dont act aggresively towards each other.........i dont think they are responsible for killing the angel there is no way he was way to big........but the clowns i know they are responsible i witnessed it with my own eyes.......the level in my tank are perfect for a fowlr they guy that owns the LFS told me they are exactly where i want them except for the salinity he said it was perfect for a reef tank but if i was fowlr he said i could bring it down a little bit to help with something im not exactly sure what he said

thanks gusy

How long has this tank been set up? And what specifically are your NH3, NO2, specific gravity, and tempature? For a LFS to say perfect, doesn't mean alot, without knowing exactly what he tested for...

That's an interesting question, perhaps your local store sold you common Damsels and not Chromis? They are in the same family but have very different temperments.
