fuge for fo tank?
would it be benifical to put a hob fuge (about 2.5 gallon) on back of a 29 gallon?

Absolutely! You can use it for culturing pods, growing macro algal for nutrient export and just for a few extra gallons of water. I don't think it would be helpful for NNR (natural nitrate reduction) by incorporating a DSB due to the very limited size, but for what I mentioned above it would be great!

how much flow do you think i need for a fo tank? alot or enough for movement of water. would a maxi jet 1200 enought? do you think i need a hang on back filter? or would my 45lb of lr be fine with the powerhead?

A couple of MJ 1200's would suit a 29 gallon pretty well. For a fish only aqaurium, I would include a protein skimmer in the equipment list for sure; FO tanks typically have messier eaters which help increase nutrients therefore the more you can do to keep the nitrates at a minimum the better off you are.
