Maybe they aren't used to feeding in captivity yet? In nature they usually feed by taking up huge gulps of sand and sifting it for zooplankton and phytoplankton. If they aren't going for the brine shrimp, try squirting some mysid shrimp directly in front of them with a turkey baster. If that doesn't work, try any frozen preparations specifically for carnivores and put a little bit right in front of them and see if they touch it. Or try some finely minced shrimp from the supermarket.

Yes, you can use the shrimp from the freezer but thaw them out and peel them first. Then chop them up extremely fine with the kitchen knife. Just keep chopping away until it is mush. Remember that watchman gobies are used to eating extremely small animals, zooplankton.

A mixed diet is always best but some fish are picky.

Right now though , the priority is getting them to eat.Once you have them eating you can try varying their diet and mixing for a more nutritious blend . First change you might consider is soaking the same shrimp in a vitamin enriched formula.
