Hi guys, as you should know my lionfish and scorpion both died in my 10g tank so I went to the lfs and they have a pair of black percs and a pair of skunk clowns. Wich pair do you think I should buy? Any opinions would be appreciated.

Hi szwedo,
I think either would be fine, but before you add anything I think you should make sure that your tank is stable and ready for them. If you just lost 2 fish, something might be wrong thus the reason they passed. If everything is stable go for it, personally I like the percs. ![]() |

Thanks Scott, and I just changed about 8 gallons earlier today to make sure they'll survive. Also, do you think they'll reproduce or is that unlikely?

It's not toally unlikely but I wouldn't hold my breath.
If however you just did an 8 gallon water chang eon your 10 gallon tank, you should probably hold off for a couple of weeks to make sure things are stable. |

I think it would be a better idea to give it another week. Although tempting, there is no need to rush it and regret it later. As far as getting them to breed, I think that it would be much better to focus on getting the environment stable and going from there. If you are interested in reading up on Clownfish, I would suggest Joyce Wilkersons Clownfish book, available through our bookstore.

I don't have a salt water tank or a lionfish, but I do have a freshwater tank. When I see lionfish in stores they're pritty big I say you should get a bigger tank if it's possible.
