I was hoping I could get some advice on the selections that I am trying to decide on for my 75 gallon tank. It has been up and running for over 3 years. I have kept it stocked with fish off and on recently have decided I would like a differant look in the tank so I traded in my current pink tailed trigger and blue headed wrasse for store credit until I do decide which way to go. The below are my selections if I could get any advice on which would be the most suitable I would appreciate it very much.
1st. 3 blue hippos, a pair of gold striped maroon clowns, and a christmas island flame angel. 2nd. My boyfriend is eventually going to have a dragon moray in his tank at his house so I got very interested in the eels. I was considering the Cortez Dragon Moray or another of the smaller morays and just the live rock and mushrooms that I have. 3rd. I would LOVE to have a powder blue tang, a yellow tang, and the blue hippo tang in the 75. I plan on starting with small sizes of tangs if I go this route because of the size of my tank. I am planning on upgrading to a 125 next year. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Angel |

Problem is, finding a Golden Dwarf Eel. Marine Center doesn't list one on their stocking list and neither does FFExpress. Last time I checked Jeffs Exotics he didn't list one either, at least not the dwarf anyway. Any other places you can recommend to check? Thanks

The tangs should work together and do well since you are upgrading to a larger tank. I'd add the powder blue last, as he will become dominant fish, with yellow tang next and then hippo. So introduce them in reverse order.
On your number 1 idea, I think 3 hippos would be OK together, although I'm not positive. I think hippos are among the very few species of tangs that get along with its own kind. However, the pair of maroon clowns may be a bit of a challenge. Unless you buy them as a mated pair it's a bit tricky to wed two maroons without one killing the other. It can be done, though, and if you go that route and need help just post and we'll give you instructions. Don't know about eels, but that too, sounds like a fun project. ------------------ If it's broke, don't fix it---hide it. |

Here's what I would do.
IF you really wanted an eel. Golden Dwarf Eel Pygmy Angel Clowns Royal Gramma A wrasse. (6-line) Good luck. |

I picked up a small pair of gold striped maroom clowns and they took to each other right away and after 3 mounths the one has doubled in size (now the female) and they are never seen more than a foot away from each other.
My suggestion on maroons would be to get 2 small ones of the same size or as Bughead suggested get a mated pair to start with which is the best way less chance of problems. ------------------ Buy propigated corals Its never big enough |

The only questionable additions that I would be concerned about would be to add 3 tangs to your tank. These fishes need alot of space and even in your future 125 gallon, I think would be pushing it. I would opt for 1.
