Question for people who actually drip phyto-paste?
I use a medical perisaltic pump to drip my cryo-phyto 24/7. In order to keep the phyto cool, the reservoir is a small igloo with an icepack that is changed nightly at every refill. Also to keep the phyto in suspension, I use a magnetic stirrer at the bottom of the reservoir. However....running this stirrer 24/7 transfers some heat to the reservoir and in turn heats the phyto. This make the whole setup counter-productive...
IMHO food is delivered constantly in the ocean and not just a 15 min rush of food (when you just pour a phyto mixture into the tank). So, if there are others out there (besides myself and the Aquarium of the Pacific at Long Beach) that actually drip phyto 24/7, what do you do? What kind of setup do you have? However, if I remember correctly, Long Beach aquarium drips live phyto and not the cryopaste.
