Does anyone have any experience with these fish? That Fish Place in Pennsylvania has alot, but they all currently have ich. The clerk told me that they require very cold water: 60 - 65 degrees? (This was his explanation as to why they have ich!)
By the way Scott Michaels does not cover this fish in his book. Thanks Mike |

Yes, they are a cold water fish. My daughter bought one not knowing that fact. It lived in her tank three months, which, I'm told, is a little longer than usual. Pretty little fish, but don't waste there lives by putting them in a tropical tank.

I heard these have short lifespans, ~1 year comes to mind. They are so small and cute and I almost bought a couple a few years ago but decided against it. I do not know anything about their hardiness, though and never really dug further to substantiate the lifespan of them.
