Sand after the fact.
I want to add a jawfish or a possibly a goby. As of now I do not have the required depth of sand. Has anyone added sand after the fact? I really do not see a problem other than adding a little at a time over time.

You can add up to an inch of sand at one time. I just wouldn't cover the whole area. If it were me, I'd prob add an 1/2 - 1 inch to 1/3 of the tank. Let it go a few days - week. Repeat until surface is covered.

When i added my 2 inch sand bed to my allready 2 inch bed i placed the new sand in a pillow case and rinced it in a 5 gallon bucket of RO water. then I took a cup and added a cup at a time to 1/4 of the tank, until i got about 1 inch wait 24 hours then add another 1/4 of the tank. the whole process took 8 days and every thing is happy now. Be Carefull of what type of sand you use I made the mistake of putting Southdown on the top of my sand bed in my frag tank and never got it to clear up.......
