Midas Blenny, all hope lost???

Hi all, new to the forums and I hope some of you can help.
I have a midas blenny that somehow escaped from the tank, thankfully my wife heard our cat scratching to get at something and I was able to rescue the blenny.
I have no idea how long he was out for but he seemed to be doing fine last night (as fine as a fish could be out of water).
After 24 hours he seems to have gone down hill, not rapidly, but hasn't seemed to have gotten any better.
He is missing a little of his dorsal fin and about 1/4 off of one of his side fins.
Is there any hope of a full recovery or will the fire shrimp I have unfortunately make a meal of him?

Hi KevRoss,

It is very hard to say and will be based on how much damage the fish suffered from being out of the water. The only thing that you can do is hope for the best and keep a watchful eye on him.

Good luck!

15 mins after posting, the blenny had slipped from his hiding place and stopped breathing . For the best I think, I hate to see any form of animal suffer.
Thanks for your prompt reply.

Sorry to hear that KevRoss, I guess it had a better chance than most jumpers.
