Might not be a bad addition with other foods for a good mixed diet. Make sure to not use just one food for your fish, mix it up with frozen, homemade, flakes and pellets.

yeah there's been articles on how this food was introduced to marine life and they liked it so much that they didn't want to swtich back to the old foods.

I don't know that I would agree with that...

Maybe I missed it on their website... are there any independent lab reports about their products, or is it all anecdotal testimonials?

Is there a recent poll on what we feed our fish?

Its not on the manufacturer website but on a website called cichlidforum.com

This is true that the saltwater fish never switched back and their color increased. You should check it out.

A couple of things here. First on the food issues, I don't think there is one single food that is appropriate for a fish. I think a mixed diet is the best option for all around nutrition. With that said I like to feed enriched frozen mysis and brine as well as a mix of Ocean Nutrition flakes, Prime Reef, Formula's 1 and 2, etc.

Now on your sick clown, what is sick about it? How is it acting? Be very careful with the copper treatment, I would think that it might not have been needed and it requires careful, precise dosing.

Reef- i appreciate your responses , a mixed diet i know would be great and i am feeding it live brine shrimp, with flake food. thanks

My clown was a Percula Clown, small.. it had little white clusters on his haed by his gills, he wouldnt eat live brine shrimp, flake, or blood worms. The first day i got him which was this wensday, i noticed a lil red spot as if a lil needle puncture with a mni small bubble, i thougth he would heal and it would come off... wrong there was an outbreak overnight and little clusters formed on him, i quickly went to the store i got him at and they reccomended me some in tank treatment, but if i had a QT they reccomended me some stronger copper treatment, fine i got the stronger copper treatment and i treated him, he didnt get any better in the QT.So i put him back in the tank with the only 2 damsels, a blue aggressive one, and a purple yellow tail damsel, well shortly after Nemo died, the yellow damsel had 3 white spots in an instant and was acting weary and not hiding in the rocks. So i quickly scooped him up and she didnt put up a fight, i Quarantened her and put some copper and in an instant she changed to a dark purple to a light purple .. she got better in less than 30 minutes ,and i just put her back in cause she wasnt weary anymore and more active in the QT tank, so i put her back in the tank...Now i see her this morning and she is that dark purple she was before and she doesnt have any more white spots .. honestly it worked really fast because i grabbed her immediately and treated her right away, and they are strong contenders to start off your tank.

I called the fish store and they are goint to give me another clown fish for 1/2 the price next time i get one again, that is in two weeks more so my tank would be set up with 4 weeks of cycling..so it should be good.

I agree to you reef. I feed my fish anyways a balanced diet I was just trying to say that there was a highly recommended food called NLS. But you are right, in the wild fish don't feed on just one type of food.
