I have a firefish goby in my 29 gallon FO tank that is eating and acting fine but he has a problem with his mouth. It looks like he is losing is lower lip. Almost like it is rotting off only without any discoloration. What is it and how do I fix him?? Not the best info to go by but any help would be nice. Thanks.

I've had success with Melafix on fish skin problems. I had a purple firefish who developed a sort of tumor on his gill. I put him in the hospital tank and treated with Melafix, which, as I dimly recall, took about two weeks. Melafix can "safely" be used in a reef, but it's best to seperate the fish for medication if at all possable.
