Specific Gravity

I measured my water with a refractometer and the salinity is at 35% and the specific gravity is 1.025. What is the normal range. If you need to add salt what is the best method. Thanks for all your help !!!

well it depends on who you ask normal range is 1.022-1.025. I keep mine at 1.025.It is 1/2 cup of salt per gallon if you want your salt higher.when I make 35 gallons of water I put an extra 1/4 cup of salt. seem to have worked for me. every time the water is VERY close to 1.025 lower NEVER higher.
thats just my experience

1.020-1.027 are numbers that are generally tossed around for saltwater aquariums - different people advise different levels. If you do lots of searches and reading, you'll find LOTS of opinions. Yours is definitely in the right range. Whatever exact salinity you decide to keep your tank at, try to keep it relatively stable...
