protein skimmer
the lfs told me not to run my protein skimmer for the first 2-3 weeks has anyone ever heard of this???? thanks for any info you can give me

![]() I have heard of it before and the thought is that the skimmer doesn't remove the organics that need to be coverted during the nitrogen cycle. Personally, I would run the skimmer; I don't think it makes much difference. |

I ran my protein skimmer during the cycle and everything went well.....

I have heard numerous people recommend that very thing, but I don't see a good reason for it. I would get the skimmer running as soon as possible.
