They are a great fish with a great personality.
My Gramma loreto is very peaceful with other tank mates and completely reef safe. If mine is disturbed it will open its mouth up real wide and it looks to me like it's screaming. I only saw it do this a few times. They should be kept one to a tank though unless your tank is huge with a bunch of LR and you can buy them as a pair....introducing them at the same time. I enjoy my Gramma.

I don't know what a strawberry fish is and I've seen the blue and yellow damsels sometimes be called devil tailed. They can be very irritating to other tankmates.

I love my Royal Gramma, he's great. Mine too does the "scream" when he's annoyed. I have 2 shrimp and a pair of clowns and he doesn't bother them at all. I did have a Red Firefish Goby, which he really disliked. My guess is because maybe they were similar shaped. I'd say that he probably would not get along with a Strawberry Pseudochromis. But he'd be fine with the damsels, as long as the damsels don't beat up on him. IMO

If you notice from my avatar, my royal gramma is one of my favorites. He's not aggressive at all (the agressive arena is left up to my female oscellaris and my purple tang). He doesn't bother my shrimp. They are known for being agressive with their own kind or with fish that are similarly colored.

You might want to reconsider getting one of those and get a Pseudochromis fridmani (Orchid Dottyback) instead. The Orchid Dottyback is very similar in coloration but it has a better personality and is much less aggressive with other fish. I have an Orchid Dottyback and it hasn't caused any problems at all. You can read about dottybacks here.

I wouldn't suggest trying to keep any dottyback with a Royal Gramma unless the tank is fairly large -- at least 180 gallons. That's because there would be a good chance that the dottyback would beat up the Royal Gramma.

I love my Royal G. He has the best personality of all my fish, and is well mannered with all tanks mates. I highly recommend this species.

My royal gramma is a pig at feeding time. He'll eat anything I put in - pellet, flake, chopped frozen seafood, cyclopeze, brine, mysis, etc, etc, etc he's even been seen taking a peck at the algae in the clip (for the tangs). He was very shy at first, especially when he was small... until dinner time when he would be out gobbling up everything he can get his mouth around.

Oh, by the way, mine does have a cave he hovers in while he watches what I do... he rarely is just out for a swim in the sun. The cave is in plain view though.

Bubba,
Add a few more small RG and your RG will be out much more often, I answered your other post about how to choose female RG. Don't add a male one or they will kill each other.
