Black Occelaris Clown
I bought one of these on the weekend, and put it in my 40 gal, with another (Orange) Occelaris that I have had for a couple of weeks now. The 2 are getting on famously, only thing is now neither fish will go into the bta, (which the original clown loved).
What are the odds for these 2 pairing up and possibly breeding? What would the outcome be? The black one isn't fully black, it has an orange face still, but the LFS guy said he will darken more as he gets older. He is also a bit smaller than the orange one. Would I end up with black clowns, orange clowns or a mix of both? Will they even breed at all? |

You'll just have to wait and see what happens. I hear the black oscellaris take longer than the orange ones to get into the mood to reproduce. I've had a mated pair (of black ones) for six months, and so far, nothing has happened. I've heard it can take several years.
