Scopas Tang questions

Just purchased a Scopas tang, acclimated him to my tank, put him in. He swam around for awhile. The next morning one of his eyes were a little cloudy. He pretty much hid all day, and when the lights went out he seemed to swim nervously up against the glass. I haven't seen him eat any of the dried seaweed yet and he seems uninterested in it. I have a 75 gal with 1 coral beauty, two clowns, and 4 chromis, and a couple of hermit crabs. Any thoughts or ideas on how i can intice him to eat, or what might be up with him? Thanks

Was he eating before you purchased him?

Unfortunately i don't know...the store was a zoo and you physically had to grab a person to get a fish you wanted! I still haven't seem him eat...I'm afraid he hade velvet disease. Some white spots are evident, one eye was cloudy however now it is not, and the skin seems velvetie. Whats the best way to cure this?

I'm not the best diagnostician for fish... maybe someone else on here can help out. Meanwhile, here's a site where you can get a start on looking up the problem: http://saltaquarium.about.com/od/saltwaterfishdiseases/

Lesson here is, buy only from LFS that has the time to show you whether or not a fish is eating. Or at the very least tells you the fish has not eaten yet!

Unfortunately I have more bad news...The two clown that I put in along with the tang are now victims. They seemed to be eating fine the last i knew. Tested the water about two minutes ago and the readings are: ph 8.3, ammonia 0, nitrate 15, nitrite, 0. Another thing i noticed in the tank, at night there seems to be slug looking type things on the walls, during the day i can't seem to find them. Anyone have any ideas what these might be. Look like baby snails, but i can't imagine the snails are multiplying! The chormis and coral beauty seem to be doing fine...i'll have a better look in the morning. I'm not going to add anything to the tank until i can get this figured out. Anyone know of anything that i can put in the water to clear up parasites? ANY help is appreiciated.

PS. Lesson was learned about asking questions no matter how busy they are!
