New Tank
Hi,
I have just set up a new saltwater tank. My other tank is a 6 gallon Eclipse that is great for my one clown fish, my emerald crab and starfish. Since I have always had a small tank, I am not sure what type of fish can live together. I really like pufferfish, but not sure if their aggression will limit the other fish I would want to put in it. Any thoughts on puffers and other fish? We have considered other fish like a maroon clown, yellow tang or a butterfly fish. A local fish store has a saddled puffer but they don't really know anything about it. Any suggestions would be great. Jess |

How big is your new tank. The saddled puffer can be agressive (isnt the saddled puffer poisonous?) The maroon clown I know IS agressive and the butterfly fish......well, depending on what kind you get would make a difference since some of them are a peacful fish and others are more on the agressive side (from what I have read anyways). The puffer can grow to 5 or 6 inches the maroon clown I think can get up to 6 inches and depending on the type of butterfly fish they range in sizes from 5 to 10 inches I think. Is your tank 50 gallons or better?

First off, WELCOME TO REEFLAND!
My saddled valentini puffer has never shown any signs of aggression, and it is only poisonous if you eat it. If you want a butterfly, I would encourage you to do a lot of research on it and have a well-established, large tank first. If your store doesn't know anything about a toby (saddled puffer), go somewhere else because they probably don't know much about anything else, either, and one thing you can't get enough of in this hobby is good advice.
