Cleaner Fish

Has anyone had any personal experience with keeping parasite cleaners such as the Neon Blue or Neon Gold Gobies? What are some other good small parasite cleaners.

????

Im not looking to treat ick...I know how to treat ick...Im looking for some small gobies to have in my tank that would help controle parasites "if" (being the key word here) they ever came up. Personally I like the thought of having a backup helper in my tank just in case anything comes up... is that ok with you? Most the people on this site said ask as many questions as you want, and thats exactly what Im doing. Im looking for personal experiences on how well these fish were affective. I dont know what makes you think I dont take this seriously. I come home from school every day looking forward to seeing my tank and I take my time at every little process that I do....maybe its just me, but I dont see anything in my thread that sais I was looking to treat ick or that I dont take this seriuosly.....? Thanks anyways...Have a GREAT DAY.

Im kinda feeling attacked here did I say something in a past forumn to affend someone>?

I think Marc was just trying to point you to his experience which he posted in the thread labelled "Treating Ick."

Generally cleaner fish aren't that great at controlling parasites in our tanks. What they pick off of other fish mostly consists of slime and old scales. They do eat some parasites, but usually just enough to keep the fish coming back for more. The type of parasites they do eat are mostly copepods that don't show up in the hobby that frequently.

I'm sure you meant to say parasitic isopods, not copepods?
