Percula acting weird

I bought a percula about a week ago. He was fine the first couple days. Now he's got some white stuff in his mouth and it's also a bit red. He is not eating and he keeps his mouth open (pretty wide) all the time. Also, since I don't have an anemone, he has become really attached to a few mushrooms. I have caught him sucking on the side of the mushroom....this is something I have never heard of. Anyways, does anyone have any idea what he might have on his mouth and how to treat it. I gave him a freshwater dip yesterday which helped a bit, but today he looks the same. Any ideas?

hmm, maybe a bacterial infection, i would take caution performing freshwater dips. i would instead try and catch him and put him in a QT tank. then if someone knows the illness treat the fish in the qt tank. if you have trouble catching him, like i did catching mine, wait till night and turn off all the lights and what i did was use a flashlight to attract him and creeped up behind him with the net didnt have a clue i was there. anyways good luck with the fish

The Percula is still not eating. The white stuff on his mouth is gone, but I've been noticing that every now and then I see this string like thing hanging out of his anus. I have tried all kinds of frozen foods and flakes, but still he won't eat. I want to treat him, but I don't know what meds to use. Help!
