Post transferring a fish

Hi All,
I am ready to move my clownfish from my 10G into my 29G.
Can I just catch him and transfer him right over to the new tank.
Considering that the temp and salinity are the same I in both tanks. Or do I have to accumuate him?
Thanks,
CaptK

I've never had a problem transfering a fish from one tank to the other without acclimation. Occasionally there will be a degree difference in temp so I'll float the fish in the plastic "catching" container. With fish, I've never worried about a small difference in sg, but with inverts, I do acclimate them slowly even though both tanks have nearly the same water.

Make sure to check the pH too. If everything is similar in both you should be able to just move him right over.

Personally,

I would go ahead and acclimate the fish into the new tank as you would when bringing home a fish from the LFS. Yes, the SG and temp may be similiar but there are hundreds of other parameters that vary from tank to tank. Like the old saying: it's better to be safe than sorry!
