    Starting New 75G Tank

I am very new to this hobby. My friend just got me hooked on Tuesday of last week and I have been doing loads of research ever since. Tomorrow I am going to buy a new 75G tank along with a nice looking stand.

I am taking my time on this because I know that patience is key.

Here are my plans for starting with fish:

    2x True Percula Clownfish
    1x Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
    1x Kaudern's Cardinalfish

I'm not very into having Coral...maybe down the road I might, but since I'm new I dont want to have to struggle with it.

I do want an anemone to go along with my Clownfish though, and I have been doing some research. For the True Percs, I have found that they like Ritteri/Magnificent Anemones and Carpet Anemones the best, but those two are hard to care for. I personally would like to get a Bubble Tip Anemone, but I have found those are more for Maroon Clownfish and a few other types. I have found places online saying that as long as the anemone is from the Indo-Pacific region, the True Percs will adapt to it, it might take a few days to a couple weeks, but eventually it will adapt to it.

I was wondering if anyone knows if this is true? Should I go with the Bubble Tip Anemone or the harder to maintain Ritteri/Magnificent Anemone?

Give yourself about 6 months of making sure you can run a stable tank before you consider the BTA. If you can, get a tank raised one.

Hmmm... now that the tank is full, I could convert the pool to saltwater...

I agree with Bubba. Starting a new tank takes a long time, and the slower you go, especially with your first tank, the more rewarding it will be. Trust me, you will find more interesting things scurrying around your tank than you could ever imagine in those first few months, and that will keep you occupied while you learn the ins and outs of your tank.

Just tell your wife that having a tank teaches you all sorts of new DIY skills...which will save lots of money around the house...so you can buy more stuff for your tank...so you can learn more skills...

I know you said that you do not want to get into corals but I believe if you start with them you will enjoy them. Also if you want to introduce fish into your tank you should start off by purchasing live rock. This will speed up you life cycle on you new tank and with live rock you could ad coral sooner.

I started with a 75 gallon tank And I felt like you about corals but if you try them I beleive you will enjoy them.
