changed my aquascaping...... how do fish deal with this?

Okay, during my water change this weekend I got frustrated over my hermit crabs destruction of my pretty designs, and changed everything around. I took out the fake plants that they kept uprooting and replaced them with a big sunken ship thing, and moved all my lacerock and coral around. I was just wondering if this is usually hard on the fish, so far mine seem to really like it, and my triggerfish, which was hiding all the time before has been swimming out in the open alot more lately, and exploring all the new stuff. Is it okay to change things once in a while, or is that stressfull to the fish?
thanks,
jen

I'm sure they it will cause a little stress, but I don't see it being overly stressful unless there are young are involved. There may be a little bit of trying to reesablish terrority but I don't think you have much to worry about at all.

I did it once looking for a phantom mantis and had no problems with the community.

I think my fish liked it when I switched everything... it gave them something new to explore.
