I bought a sailfin tang tuesday, and today it had a huge outbreak of ick, out of nowhere, apparantley we bought it with ick, but it was prefectly fine. so i bought a QT 10 gallons, with a coppersafe treatment. Can i put the SeaCure coppersafe treatment into the main tank?

I wouldn't. First, copper will kill your inverts, including the fauna and bacteria in your liverock. Secondly, the copper will absorb into the glass of the tank and make it unsafe for inverts indefinitely.
Therefore you have 2 options. The first would be to remove the fish, set-up the 10-gallon and treat it in there. The other option, which has been used with varied success, is to try to feed the fish fresh, finely minced garlic or use garlic elixir with their food. |

How did you do your acclimation process for the tang... did you just acclimate with temp, and then drop him in the tank?
I would try feeding him Garlic Extreme from kent marine.. Ever since i have used that, none of my fish have had ick outbreaks ![]() |

Of course not, I place the bag for 15 minutes for the temperature to be equal, then take 100 mL of my tank water pour it in, wait 30 minutes, then pour 200 mL of my tank water and then wait another 30 minutes and then I dump the water in a bucket, and when the water is running through the fish net I put him in directly.

What is the temp. in the tank? a cold tank will certainly cause a ick problem, I had a similar issue a while back I raised my temp to 82, no ick since. Some people think that is to warm but my fish are doing great.
