Live Rock ??
I bought uncured LR it took me a month to cure it. Its finally in my 75 gallon. Question is will I see the creatures in the rock or do they only come out at night. Have some algae starting to grow but haven't seen anything else. Does it take awhile for the critters to make an apperance or do I have to do the flashlight thing in the dark to see whats in the rock?? The rock came from Live Aquaria supposedly they have some of the best rock available on line. I purchased Tonga deepwater rock.

For the most part you'll have to look at night. You'll start to see more and more during the day once the population is higher. But as for now, you'll have to look at night.

A guy at my LFS claims he got a coral out of his LR a full 18 months after he bought it - cured! It's an experience!

My LR is finally starting to show some signs of life it has started growing red and green algae. No critters have been seen yet but I'm getting hopeful.

You can try some puprle up, it's an additive, Really makes it happen quicker. I haven't used it, but my friend did and it really made the stuff grow fast. Is the red slimey ? And do you have purple yet ?

Red is not slimy and no purple yet. I'm not going to put any thing in it to help it grow just let nature take its course.

If she doesn't you can have mine - she's sacked!
"Darling, I think the tank needs more sand..." "Uh huh?" "No I really do." "OK. Anything for a bit of peace. Just make sure you wash it plenty!" "OK" <Tank's fine, she's washing some Aragonite. I nip out and then I come back.> "Marc... I think you should see this." "Crap! OMG! It's fish tank not a bloody snow scene!" Every bit - every nook and every cranny is filled with aragonite. I can't see the corals and the hermits/turbos are all missing (presumed burried). "YOU'RE FIRED!"

Thats funny Smidoid ! My wife Doesnt want anything to do with my tank! she thinks a tank should look like the local petco store with freshwater fish going in and out of a castle!
Congrats Oddball361 on the coraline sounds like you are off to a good start! Dont get startled about my wife joke Im sure a newley wed wife is more compassionate!

So does mine, Jim! The only advantage (!?) I have is that mine appreciates that you have to have LR - rather than plastic. But it ends there.
Her idea of a system is something that's like a living photgraph: it never needs anything other than occasional feeding and there are no visible wires, pumps, heaters or plumbing in the display: just fish, critters and rock. Actually, she could do without the critters! So I built a sump/fuge and put it all in there - save for the drains and the return. Now she complains that she can see the plumbing when you look behind the tank! AHHHHHGGGGGG!!
