Post Ick on Blue Hippo

By blue hippo has a BAD case of ICK, can I just treat him with regular ick medicine or do I need to move hime to a quarantine tank. There are 3 other fish in there with hime, FLame angel, Fox Face, and a spanish hogfish. I also have live rock in there but that is it.

your best bet would be to isolate the fish in a quar. tank. Try garlic extract and perhaps a cleaner shrimp will help also.

when he means feed the fish garlic, you get a garlic juice, and soak the food(frozen) in it for awhile(15min) and then drain the food feed it to him, also treating it with copper, compined with a freshwater dip will help kill the ick

m_g_m,

Also, keep in mind that by treating the fish, you won't rid the tank of ick. The best you can hope for is to keep it "in check". I accomplish this, qiute successfully I may add, by keeping Cleaner Shrimp in my tank. Never had a problem w/ ick in my 72g. FWIW.
