Substrate ??
I have crushed coral as substrate is this OK or should I use a fine grain sand??

I use a finer sand, not sugar sized that blows around too much.

I prefer the fine grades of aragonite, the so-called sugar size.

I've got sugar-grain aragonite. It seems OK so long as you don't hit it with a powerhead output (at which point, you get a snowstorm)! Larger fish will probably swish it around a bit, but that's not a problem for me diddy little reef.

I actually like the sugar sized stuff a little better, but I didn't like the snow storm. I have too much current for that stuff. Or maybe to mush in certain spots. I figures that I have probally about 1200gph movement not including my powerhead.
