Cleaner Shrimp

Anyone have any ideas as to why cleaner shrimp keep dying? The first one died the first night i put him in, took him back and got a replacement. It seemed to be doing fine until it died as well about 2 weeks after I put him in. I have a yellow tang, schoal tang, coral beauty, and 4 chromis. Are the other fish eating it for dinner? All tanks readings seem to be fine, I'm just testing the 4 basic tests, is there one that I'm missing that could be crucial? Thanks

As a part of the 'invertebrate' group, they require a lot of time for acclimation.

Fish need medium acclimation time (in general)
Corals need less acclimation time (in general)
Invertebrates need many hours to acclimate.

Unfortunately, the 'bad acclimation' includes all along the line before you got the shrimp (i.e., did the LFS acclimate it slowly and properly? Did the wholesalers acclimate it slowly and properly? etc.).

Once you're sure the acclimation was done properly all along the line, look towards copper (as josh mentioned) and water quality in general.

Could you list what you currently can test for as well as the actual numerical results?

ph - 8.1
ammonia - .1
SG. - 1.023
nitrate - 5
nitrite - 0
temp - 79

This test was about 2 weeks ago prior to puttin either of the shrimp in the tank. Those readings have been pretty consistant since the tank had completely cycled in dec 05 probably. I tested the ammonia prior to putting the second shimp in the tank and it read right around the same or close to zero. Thanks
